What time is the PowerBall draw?
PowerBall is drawn at 21:00 South African time, Tuesday and Friday. Winning numbers appear on this page within minutes of the draw. The prize breakdown follows later, usually a few hours afterwards, because the operator has to reconcile ticket sales before it can confirm what each division pays.
How many numbers does PowerBall draw?
5 main numbers from 1 to 50, plus a powerball. The PowerBall comes from its own separate set of 1 to 20, so it can repeat one of the main numbers.
What are the odds of winning the PowerBall jackpot?
1 in 42,375,200 with a single ticket. That is the number of different ways 5 numbers can be chosen from 50. Your chance of winning any prize at all is better, at roughly 1 in 18.3. Full odds for every division are on our PowerBall payouts and odds page.
What is the smallest PowerBall prize?
The easiest division is PowerBall only, and across the draws in our database it has typically paid about R10.00. It is a small return, but it is also by far the most commonly won division.
Can I check an old PowerBall ticket here?

Can past PowerBall numbers predict future draws?
No. Each draw is independent, so a number that has come up often is no more likely to appear tonight than one that never has. We publish hot and cold numbers because they are interesting and because they show whether the draw looks fair, not as a system. Be wary of anyone selling predictions.
